Antipodean parkrun for Jo

Losing an hour of precious sleep wasn’t enough to stop Gareth James finding another 10k race. This time it was the Pendock Spring Chicken 10k in the Worcestershire countryside. He was very pleased with his 50.45 finish in the hilly, muddy conditions on a mix of road and farm tracks.

And it was off to the Kent coast again for Martin Croucher as he completed marathon number 123. This time it was a family affair as he was joined on laps at various times by his mum, sister and uncle.

Martin reports that the conditions made it a challenging day with very strong winds. However, he was revived at the feed stations by the array of homemade fudge………it’s all about the food.

In parkrun news this week, Wendy Nicholls and Kate Jacobs were first lady at Lydiard and Tetbury respectively and both clocked times with age gradings of over 80%. Ollie Campbell won at Chippenham.

Gordon Jones was first MV70 at Seven Fields. Colin and Clare Tapley had a family run at University Parks in Oxford.

At Cirencester Ian Barrett was third overall in what looked like a close battle between 2nd and 4th places. Rachel Ranger was third FV50 but clocked the same time as the 2nd FV50 lady and was less than a minute behind the first placed FV50. Jos Randall, in half marathon training, was 1st FV55 and Pam Wheeler was 1st FV65.

And while we were all running around in the damp and drizzle, Jo Roberts enjoyed a very hot Australian parkrun at the Marina event and was 2nd female finisher.
