Rough 'n' Tumble, Milton Lilbourne, Pewsey, 10 miles trail
In another quiet week, newcomer Kerry Smith found a ten mile trail race over the downs near Pewsey to test her stamina to full. She was not found wanting leaving over 200 runners behind her.

Cadbury Marathon, Hobart, Australia, 26.2 miles road
Martin Croucher completed his month long sojourn “down under” by running the Cadbury Marathon in Hobart, Tasmania. In a conservatively timed race and with a significant negative split Martin finished with a long, leg sapping hill in 3.39. The 6 am start, designed to avoid the heat of the mid day sun, was ideal preparation for Martin’s return to The Comrades race in South Africa coming up in May. The sponsor’s chocolate filled goody bag helped too.
1 Dion Finocchiaro 2.27.37 90 Martin Croucher (Cirencester AC) 3.39.48 293 finished.
Gloucestershire AAA Road Race Championships
Friday evening saw the presentation of medals to Road Race Championship winners by the Mayor and Sheriff of Gloucester. Only Liza Darroch and Ruth Fullford were able to attend but repeated congratulations to our five winning veterans and a reminder to everyone that getting a place in some of the qualifying races can be the hardest bit – you need to “enter early”.

parkruns, 5km trail
This week saw a great turn out at Cirencester with 200 runners including 12 from the club. Leo Crawford (returning from injury?) ran his first parkrun to finish 8th with James Widdowson hot on his heels in 9th place. Leigh Guilbert, another first timer and club new comer, was 13th. Otherwise most of our regular parkrunners took it steady although Ollie Campbell (3rd at Chippenham) almost managed to dip under eighteen minutes with a time of 18.00. Rachel Ranger will be pleased to be returning from injury and Jacob McAdam took time out of a holiday to run in Norwich. Finally Martin Croucher was unable to resist a quick scamper around the beautiful Queen’s Domain in Hobart as a pre marathon warm up.
