Heads Up : March and April Open Track Events

There are some interesting open track meetings coming up in March and April, with various events suitable for short-distance runners or long. Here's your chance to run faster than you ever would on road or trail, with similar ability athletes.

Swindon : Mark Cawte Memorial games, Wednesday 22nd March @ Foundation Park track

There are a variety of events, including some non-standard distances:

  • 150m, 300m, 600m, 1000m, 3000m.

Event entry is only £4, so book up at LINK. You will need to estimate your finish time, so they can put you in the right race.


Gloucester : St Georges Day Open graded meeting, Sunday 23rd April @ Blackridge track

A chance to run really fast and have no doubts about your time - this meeting has electronic photo-finish timing and pacemakers for all races 800m and upward, so no excuses!


Events range from 60m (under 11s only) to 5,000m. As above, you need to estimate your finish time, so you compete with similar standard runners. Entries at LINK


Gloucester : Gloucestershire Track & Field Championships Part 1, Saturday 29th April @ Blackridge track

Lastly in April, a chance to enter the county championships. Part 2 will be in mid-May. Details to follow.
