Hills and Mud at the Slaughterford 9

A small but gritty group tackled the steeply undulating, multi-terrain route of the Slaughterford 9 on Sunday. First home for Cirencester was Aaron Willis who kindly summarised the mornings fun.

“Set in the valleys and hills north of Corsham, the Slaughterford 9 was a muddy affair for all 394 runners involved. Along with a river crossing and a steep hill section called "The Sting" in the last 1/2 mile, it was a tough but picturesque route.”

“Aaron Willis came in 8th overall and was 1st vet over the line followed by Tom Purnell with a strapped up ankle in 19th place. Simon Campbell, in his first solo race in 2 years, was 65th and Slaughterford 9 regular, Andy Hindson was 133rd. Cirencester AC was 5th in the team standings.”

“After hobbling back to the hall we all enjoyed tea and cake.”

That tea and cake was hard earned. Well done to all four on those individual performances and a great team result.
