Juniors and Teens Summer Challenge Part 2

There was much better weather for these events than the previous week, but slightly fewer Junior and Teens participated, due to holidays. This week the events were 60m (penalty) hurdles and long jump for both groups plus an 800m for the Teens (we ran out of time for the Juniors!). The hurdles event was based on time, with a one second penalty for every hurdle (right) knocked over.

For each of the groups, the "Athlete of the Night" were:

Juniors

Under 10 boys : Mylo, who was first last week tied this week with Wilf who was third last time. Ollie was a close third.

Under 10 girls : New girl Alyssa came first with Eden and Tilly, not far behind, so consistency from the youngsters.

Over 10 boys : This time Rory managed to beat Elliot, in both events, but didn't win them all as Lucy jumped 3cm further.

Over 10 girls : This week, Lucy beat Aria, with Annabel third, so another competitive evening - Aria and Lucy tied for the hurdles.

Teens

Group A - This week, there were three Teens in this group but a different three to the previous week: Archie, Daisy and Oscar.

Group B : Seb won the hurdles and long jump, so placed first overall, just ahead of Tom and Robbie.

Group C : Seraphina had moved up from the Juniors, and she and Bertie were the only ones in this group.

Challenge Competitors

Several of the children were at both events, so stand a chance of winning the challenge:

Under 10 girls: Tilly and Eden

Under 10 boys: Leuan, Mylo, Ollie, Owen, Wilf

Under 12 girls: Aria, Ellena, Isobel, Lucy

Under 12 boys : Elliot and Rory

Group A : no-one has done more than one week, so it'll come down to the last week.

Group B : Jack and Tom

Group C : Bertie and Seraphina

There's a two week break with the final part of the challenge on Wednesday 30th August.
