Pre-Easter parkruns were the order of the day

This Easter weekend saw lots of people out racing, with Harrie Siebenaller running Westonbirt half in 1 hour 53 minutes.

To catch up on last week (now the results are out) Andy Hindson and Karen Higuera ran Cleevewold, a hilly 13 mile race traversing Cleeve common with plenty of ups and downs, Andy reports that the weather couldn't have been better and the race was a fantastic event. He finished in 2 hours 9mins (33rd in a field of 64) followed by Karen in 2 hours 24mins.

On the Parkrun front this Easter weekend, James and Liz Thomas were running at Lydiard parkrun as well as Gordon and Rachel Jones. Liz was running without the double buggy (as a birthday treat!) and also volunteered James as the 20-minute pacer! Only 11 seconds off 20 minutes isn't a bad effort pushing two kids on a busy course with almost 500 runners including parkrun tourists from all over the country. Although the sun was shining, the puddles in places were still quite sizeable which the kids faces afterwards spattered with mud attested to! Elsewhere Joseph Stickney was running down south at the Eden project parkrun, Ollie Campbell ran a swift race to win at Chippenham, Martin Croucher was in Newent, Tom Morgan ran Rushmoor, all the Chudley's were running in Parkville Australia, with the girls racing ahead of Mum & Dad even though they all ran sub-22minute times! Jos Randall, still down under, ran at Margaret river. Dorian, Pam, Kirsty, Oliver and Ruth ran in Cirencester on a very waterlogged course, Ella Shaftoe ran at Groe, the Timms and McAdams ran Tetbury Goods shed and Dave Moss was at Chipping Norton School parkrun. A big turnout for parkrun this week, perhaps in anticipation of the Easter festivities and food to come!
